Khawaja Asif lands in hot waters

LAHORE - Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has admitted the plea seeking PML-N leader Khawaja Asif s disqualification and issued notices to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and respondent.
Justice Mamoon Rashid heard the case pertaining to plea seeking disqualification of Khawaja Asif who had won NA-73 seat in General Elections 2018.
Earlier, on September 22, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from same constituency Usman Dar had challenged Khawaja Asif’s electoral victory.
Dar had contended in his petition that Asif submitted an unverified affidavit along with his nomination papers hiding his assets’ details.
