LAHORE (APP)- Pakistan's hockey team thumped Chinese Taipei 6-1 in their opening tie of the 4th Boys under 18 Asia Cup at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium in Bangladesh's capital city of Dhaka on Saturday.
Chinese Taipei put up a good fight in the first half. Pakistan were the first to score but the Chinese Taipei managed to equalise. However, the green shirts went ahead again and it stayed 2-1 when the first half of the 70 minute match ended, said the information made available here by Pakistan Hockey Federation.
The second half saw Pakistan dominating most of the time and they netted four more goals to emerge victorious by a tennis score.
For Pakistan, Adeel Latif had a brace while Amjad Khan, Ahmad Nadeem, Shahzaib and Waqar scored one apiece. Pakistan's next match is against China tomorrow, Sunday.
