Channel 24 given final warning by PEMRA over Mubashir Lucqman programme

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Friday issued show cause to Channel 24 for irresponsible comments about the Prime Minister's patriotism and his religious beliefs.
According to the PEMRA Notice the said TV channel on September 21 in its programme Khara Such the host Mubashar Luqman said that if the PM had the courage, and if he was a patriot he would have responded Indian propaganda aggressively.

The notice further said that apparently the anchor person had used more biased language than the media of enemy country.
PEMRA Notice said that telecast of this material shows weak editorial mechanism and absence of time delay mechanism.

It said that the act of airing this material was against NAP, electronic media code and the final warning issued to Channel 24.
The channel has been given seven days time to file reply, otherwise unilateral action would be taken.
