ATC Court announced surprise verdict in infamous Sahiwal encounter case

LAHORE – Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) announced surprise verdict in infamous Sahiwal encounter case. ATC on Thursday acquitted all the suspects in Sahiwal tragedy case due to lack of evidence.

According to details, the suspects include Safdar Hussain, Ahsan Khan, Ramzan, Saifullah, Husnain and Nasir.

ATC Judge Arshad Hussain recorded the statement of 49 witnesses including Ehtisham, the brother of deceased Zeeshan, in the Sahiwal tragedy case.

The victim Khalil’s children Umair and Muneeba and brother Jalil had recorded their statements and refused to recognize the accused. Jalil told court that he was not present at the site and could not recognize the court.

The court acquitted all the suspects due to lack of evidence and gave benefit of doubt to the suspects.

Earlier, the police produced the accused including Safdar Hussain, Ahsan Khan, Ramazan, Saifullah, Hasnain and Nasir Nawaz, in court amid tight security.
