Afghan president Ashraf Ghani to arrive in India today

KABUL: Following a wave of terror attacks in Afghanistan, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani will be undertaking a surprise one-day visit to India on Tuesday (today).

The Afghan president would be in India on a one-day visit at the invitation of the prime minister.

The invitation was extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Afghan President and was conveyed personally by national security advisor Ajit Doval when he visited the strife-torn country recently.

During the visit, the Afghan President will meet his Indian counterpart Ram Nath Kovind and will hold delegation-level talks with Modi.

The Afghan President will also be delivering an address at a thinktank in New Delhi.
