Afghan Ambassador meets JI Chief Siraj ul Huq, seeks help in Afghan peace process

ISLAMABAD – Afghan Ambassador Omar Zakhilwal called on Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sirajul Haq said that the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan are close to each other.

“We want more stabilized relations between both countries and their people. Peace cannot be established in the region until the US forces are present in Afghanistan,” he maintained.

The JI ameer said that stabilized Afghanistan is vital for peaceful Pakistan. “It is common responsibility of both Islamic countries for establishment of peace in the region.”

He said that America has sabotaged talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government several times. “The US policy of increasing the Indian involvement in Afghanistan is tantamount to spreading anarchy and chaos in South Asia,” he added.

He was of the view that America should withdraw its forces from Afghanistan if it really wants peace and stability in the region.
