Indian intelligence agency officer house raided over suspicion of double cross

Highly placed sources confirmed to India Today that searches were carried out at the residence of a former NIA officer, who had recently completed a decade-long deputation to the NIA and had returned to his cadre.

A senior official in Himachal Pradesh said, "The officer was on 60-day leave and had not joined back into the state police."

Meanwhile, sources in the anti-terror probe agency said, "Facts have emerged which are to be verified".

In the searches, some electronic devices belonging to the former officials have also been said to be seized.

The decorated IPS officer was said to be part of the probe team when raids were carried out in October last at several locations in the Kashmir valley on premises owned by various NGOs that included Mr Parvez's residence and office.

An officer said, "Certain statements have come to light, and in such matters, an internal probe is carried out to ascertain whether those are true or not."
