ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that construction work on Munda Dam on Swat River will start next year.
Kurram Tangi dam construction status
Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali told the House during question hour that presently the dam project is in study phase which comprises of detailed engineering design, preparation of tender documents and PC-I.
He said total cost of these activities is estimated at 1097.760 million rupees. He said that revised PC-I has been submitted to the Ministry of Planning and Development and after its approval funding from local and international sources will be arranged.
Tarbela Dam 4th extension power generation project status
The Minister of State pointed out that on completion, the Munda Dam will generate 800 MW of electricity. He said completion of hydel projects is priority of the government and the Munda Dam is very important project.
