Govt hajj scheme increased manifold: Senate Committee told
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has been informed that the people's confidence on government scheme hajj has increased manifold.
Briefing the Committee in Islamabad today (Wednesday), officials of the Ministry said this year 374,557 applications were received for Government Hajj Scheme against the quota of 120,000.
The Committee was told that hajj expenses have been retained at two hundred seventy thousand rupees and two hundred eighty thousand rupees, despite per haji increase of forty five thousand rupees in government scheme. The additional amount will be paid by government.
