ISLAMABAD - European Space Agency for the first time in history is organising the "Act In Space" international show in Pakistan.

It is an annual event organized globally with an aim to ‘Invent tomorrow’s new services thanks to space technologies’.

The event is scheduled to take place on May 25-26 which encourages students and professionals alike to take part in the international innovation contest which aims to foster entrepreneurial abilities while promoting the use of space technologies.

The event is held under the supervision of European Space Agency (ESA) in 35 countries simultaneously.

For the first time ever, Act In Space challenge is being organized in Pakistan – the only country in the region to be hosting the event.

ActInSpace is a unique opportunity for participants worldwide to work on creating business prospectives for the challenges by the use of patents, technologies and satellite data made available by CNES, ESA, Airbus and all our partners to create start-ups.

Students and professionals from all over Pakistan can register for the 24-hour event under two main categories:

In addition, there are two other main labels which are:

- #Patent: Challenge based on CNES or ESA Patent - #Data: Challenge based on satellite data (Pleiades, Sentinel, etc…)

The most important aim of the event is to promote start-up culture and space-tech entrepreneurship to meet the challenges faced by our world while focusing on changing people’s lives and protecting our planet.

The participants can choose from over 40 challenges listed on the Act In Space website <link>. When it comes to the space acquired data, the participants can choose from CNES, ESA, Airbus and other partners’ data.
