Internet faces global outages including Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - PTCL has said in a press release link that due to multiple cable cuts, internet services were impacted in different regions across Pakistan and PTCL has partially restored the services.

According to *DownDetector* link and many other tweets, the internet is down worldwide. As reported by international media outlet BGR, Google, Amazon, Reddit, Spectrum and many other websites are experiencing global outages from the last couple of hours.

Moreover, the internet service company Cloud flare has recently identified a possible “route leak impacting some Cloudflare IP ranges.” Afterward, the company also announced that the route leak is impacting many internet services including Cloudflare and it appears that the issues have not been fixed until now.

It is worth mentioning here that Cloudflare is one of the biggest networks operating on the Internet. People use Cloudflare services for the purposes of increasing the security and performance of their websites and services.

As for Pakistan, it appears that most of the ISPs are facing similar problems and internet users all across the country are complaining about the issue.

To summarize, it must be noted that there are two things; one the global internet outage which seems to be resolved now to an extent and secondly the internet services in Pakistan. According to our sources, PTCL’s fiber is facing some glitches causing internet outage for most of the internet users in Pakistan.

PTCL’s technical teams are working on fully restoring the network for business continuity and high availability.

This is a developing story and we will update it as soon as we get more info about the issue.
