CJP Justice Saqib Nisar takes suomoto notice over Qabza Mafia on Lahore properties

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took a suo motu notice regarding 22 encroachments in various parts of the city.

The Supreme Court (SC) directed Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director-General (DG) Amna Imran Khan to submit a report regarding the matter and illegally occupied lands in the city.

The apex court also summoned 22 individuals who have allegedly illegally occupied LDA land.

LDA DG Khan said that various pieces of land in Faisal Town and Liberty among other areas had been illegally occupied.

The LDA DG also said that after the authority conducted an operation against the encroachers, the latter filed a petition in court.
