PM Imran Khan presides federal cabinet meeting with 17 points agenda

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is holding yet another cabinet meeting in Islamabad today.

As per media report, PM is presiding over a meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad to review a 17-point agenda on Thursday.

The cabinet is expected to review a summary on the appointment of the chairman and deputy chairman of the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).

Furthermore, the cabinet is expected to approve $580 million supplementary grant for the Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC).

Besides, a report to examine the progress on institutional reforms will be presented in the meeting.

Importantly, the cabinet is expected to verify and validate the decisions which had been taken at a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on January 15, which was presided over by finance minister Asad Umar.

Regarding possible amendment in the National Disaster Management Act, 2010, a summary is expected to be reviewed. The interior ministry will present the constitutional petition No. 50 (2013) for a review.

Later, resignations of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad’s chairman, vice-chairman and youth councillor will be presented.

The federal cabinet will also consider the summary of appointment of a senior member of the Federal Land Commission.

Moreover, the cabinet will appoint new members of the Electronic Certification Accreditation Council (ECAC) and will reconsider structuring Lahore and Baluchistan’s PEMRA council of complaints.
