PEMRA to issue licences to 76 new TV Channels

LAHORE: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Chairman has revealed that media watchdog will issue licences to 76 new television channels.
Addressing a seminar organised by Department of Mass Communication at the Government MAO College on Thursday, the PEMRA chief said, “Future of the mass communication students is bright… PEMRA will be giving licences to 76 new channels.”
“We are trying to give more licences to entertainment channels… Right now, 235 radio stations have been given licences out of which there are 175 commercial licences,” he added.
