Pakistan COAS approached Indian COAS: DG ISPR responds over Indian media reports
*RAWALPINDI - The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has responded over the Indian media reports of Pakistan Army Chief approaching Indian Army Chief for peace talks.*
*ISPR dispelled Indian media reports that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa ever approached his Indian Counterpart for talks or served with him in Congo.*
“Hindustan Times reports that COAS had approached Indian COAS for talks & that both had served together in Congo. Story is factually incorrect,” the Director ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet on Thursday.
The director general ISPR said that the COAS has neither approached the Chief of the Indian Army General Bipin Rawat nor has served with him in Congo.
Major General Asif Ghafoor said that decision for Pak-India talks is prerogative of both the governments.
