UK condemns Israel's new settlement plans in West Bank

LONDON: United Kingdom has condemned Israel's announcement of plans to construct over 2,100 settlement units across the West Bank.
In a statement, UK Minister for Middle East Alistair Burt said that these settlements are illegal under international law and remained one of the obstacles to a viable solution of the Palestine issue.
He called on Israel to halt such counterproductive action, and to de-escalate current tensions and create the right environment for a just and lasting peace.
