Pakistan strongly rejects US state department statement

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and the United States have agreed that establishment of peace in Afghanistan is a priority of both the countries.

This agreement came during a telephone call that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made to Prime Minister Imran Khan today.

Mike Pompeo also highlighted Pakistan's importance in decisive action against terrorist.

The US State Secretary felicitated Imran Khan on his success in the general election and formation of government in Pakistan.

He also expressed well wishes to Imran Khan for the commitment to make Pakistan a welfare state. The Prime Minister emphasized to further strengthen bilateral relations based on mutual trust.

Imran Khan also stressed the need of establishment of peace in the region.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has rejected the statement issued by the US State Department regarding telephonic conversation between US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A foreign Office spokesperson said there was no mention of the presence of terrorists in Pakistan during conversation between the two. He said the statement of US State Department is contrary to the facts and must be rectified immediately.
