Federal Cabinet changes office timings for the government offices

ISLAMABAD – Federal Cabinet has decided to retain the two weekly holidays.
Furthermore the Federal cabinet has decided to change the working hours from 9 to 5 pm.
Earlier the interior ministry on Friday opposed the move to reduce the weekly holidays across the country.
The summary says that the government had announced two weekly holidays on national level following the recommendation of Water and Power Ministry in 2011. The reason behind the move was to control the energy crisis and save power.
Despite two holidays, the employees continued to work 40 hours per week. However; the working hours will remain the same and will not affect the performance of employees even if the holidays are cut down to one.
The interior ministry has left the final decision on the cabinet whether to trim down the holidays or not.
