ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif is not going to the United States as was earlier reported in the media rather in a strategic shift he would be leaving for China on August 28, media has been quoted as saying.
The relations between Pakistan and United States became further strained after President Trump accused Islamabad of providing save havens to militants that US is fighting.
He also threatened to cut Pakistan's aid and hinted at giving India greater role in Afghanistan.
The sources said although the minister was advised to visit US, the trip was not finalised by the government. Atfter detailed review of the situation it has been decided that the minister would not undertake the visit, the sources said
