6.1-magnitude earthquake hits eastern India

In India, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh this morning.

The US Geological Survey said, epicentre of the shallow quake was about 40 kilometres southeast and 180 kilometres southwest of the state capital Itanagar.

Meanwhile, China’s official state news agency Xinhua said the quake was also felt in Tibet.

There are no immediate reports about any casualties.
