KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh A.D. Khowaja has ordered strict compliance with the scheme developed for ensuring high security on Shab-e-Mairaj.
A spokesman for the Sindh Police, sharing details of the directive here on Monday, said picketing, random snap checking and patrolling have already been stepped up around mosques, madaris and open places where special night prayers have been planned.
A.D. Khowaja advised DIGs for not only focussing on tightening of security but also reinforcing advanced intelligence sharing mechanism.
Relevant officials were asked to develop close coordination with administrators of all the central mosques and madaris to facilitate the process of physical searching of all those entering relevant premises.
Easy accessibility of bomb disposal squad to prayer sites was also ordered to be streamlined coupled with similar provision for cops assigned with the task of technical sweeping and clearance.
The IGP Sindh ordered that parking lots, at each of the site, must be designated at a certain distance from the main congregations with equal attention towards proper traffic management and fool proof security arrangements.
All DIGs were ordered to ensure proper deployment of police force at police stations so that no duty point is left vacant in the respective jurisdictions.
This was said to be extremely crucial for security of the Namazis and participants of Mahafils. (APP)
