KABUL – The Taliban militants group in Afghanistan confirmed the killing ofits two top leaders in Kapisa province, including the group’s shadowgovernor for Kapisa and shadow district chief for Tagab district, KhaamaPress has reported.
The group issued a statement confirming that the shadow governor for KapisaMullah Mohammad Nasim Mushfaq and shadow district chief for Tagab QariEhsanullah were killed along with two others on Monday.
The statement further added that the killings of the group’s leaders willnot have an impact on the ongoing insurgency activities of the group,claiming that the group is closer to achieve victory and that theirsacrifices will pay off.
The Security Chief of Kapisa province Mohammad Hakim Azimi confiremd thatthe shadow governor of the group Nasim Mushfiq was killed during anairstrike conducted in Tagab district earlier on Monday.
He said the shadow district governor of Tagab Ehsanullah was also killed inthe airstrike conducted based on intelligence tip off.
Azimi further added that the two senior Taliban leaders had participated ina meeting of the Taliban militants when they came under airstrike.
