TEHRAN – Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi visited Iranto attend 6th Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) “Conclave of Chiefs 2018”continuing from April 23 to 25 in Tehran.
During the visit, the CNS called on Commander Islamic Revolutionary GuardCorps, Rear Admiral Ali Fidavi, Deputy Commander of Iran Army, Vice AdmiralHabib Ullah Siyari and Commander of Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral HosseinKhanzadi in separate meetings.
During the meeting with Commander of Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, RearAdmiral Hossein Khanzadi, matters of mutual interest including bilateralnaval collaboration and security environment in Indian Ocean Region weredilated upon.
Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also thanked Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi forinviting him to attend 6th Indian Ocean Naval Symposium, “Conclave ofChiefs 2018”. Both dignitaries also discussed avenues to enhance bilateralcooperation between both navies in the field of training and provision oftechnical manpower and expertise.
The Commander of Iranian Navy acknowledged the need and significance ofclose and strong bilateral naval association in diverse realms betweenPakistan Navy and Iranian Navy.

Iranian dignitaries acknowledged warm and brotherly relations betweenPakistan and Iran, based on historical ties and highly appreciated the roleand contribution of Pakistan for maintaining peace and stability in themaritime domain. The dignitaries agreed to enhance bilateral collaborationbetween Pakistan and Iran in general and defence related avenues inparticular.
