Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority to undergo major restructuring

In Karachi, a nine-member committee has been established with the aim of restructuring the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), as reported by ARY News on Saturday.
A notification has been issued appointing Shazia Rizvi, the Joint Secretary II of the Ministry of Aviation, as the chairperson of this committee. The notification also designates Vice Air Marshal Taimoor Iqbal as the deputy chairperson. Other committee members include Asif Iqbal (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Aviation), Abdul Malik (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance), Nadir Shafiq (Deputy Director General, Regulatory CAA), Commodore Mirza Aamir (President, Aircraft Accident Investigation Board), Saqib Butt (Director Finance, CAA), Sameer Saeed (Director, Aviation Security), Sadiqul Rahman (Director, APS), and Abid Ali Shah (Director HR, CAA). The committee has been tasked with completing its work by October 15.
According to the notification, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will undergo division into two entities: the Pakistan Airport Authority and the Bureau of Air Safety Investigation.
This committee will oversee the transfer of existing assets, funds, employees, records, offices, and furniture to these two organizations. Additionally, the committee will have the authority to distribute machinery, vehicles, and funds.
