A huge surprise for Chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf

Zaka Ashraf, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Interim Management Committee, has secured a significant role in the upcoming general elections, according to reports by ARY News. This development comes as part of the Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's strategic move to establish provincial parliamentary boards in preparation for the elections. These parliamentary boards will play a crucial role in determining the PPP's candidates for the forthcoming general elections.

Notably, Zaka Ashraf had previously served on the PPP parliamentary board for Central Punjab, where he collaborated with prominent party figures such as Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Manzoor, Hassan Murtaza, Rana Farooq Saeed, and Faisal Saleh Hayat. The formation of separate provincial parliamentary boards underscores the PPP's commitment to ensuring the selection of strong and competitive candidates across the country.

In response to growing anticipation, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that the general elections are scheduled to take place in the last week of January 2024. The ECP is actively engaged in the delimitation process of constituencies, with the initial list expected to be published on September 27. The final delimitation list will be revealed on November 30, paving the way for the electoral process to commence as per the 54-day election schedule. This decision comes after fervent demands from political parties for the ECP to announce the election date, setting the stage for a significant political event in Pakistan's democratic history.
