Senior journalist Kamran Yousuf has claimed that a high-ranking official sent a clear message to Money Changers, stating that the dollar's value is 250 rupees, and they must maintain it at this level, after which he left.
In his blog, Kamran Yousuf explained that on September 5th, the dollar was at its peak, but after administrative actions were taken, its value started to decline.
He mentioned that on one hand, these actions were taking place, and on the other hand, well-known Money Changers in Pakistan were summoned for a meeting in Islamabad. Similar meetings had happened in the past, and Money Changers believed this meeting would be significant. However, when all the participants arrived, the organizers who had called the meeting also joined at the end.
Kamran Yousuf stated that this meeting lasted only two minutes. After exchanging greetings, the host said, "You have been called here because the actual value of the dollar, as we have calculated, is 250 rupees, and we want the dollar's value to be 250 rupees. If you do not comply, you will be responsible for the consequences."
Furthermore, they mentioned that by delivering this message, important officials, left the meeting without listening to the representatives of Money Changers, leaving them perplexed as they expected the meeting to be lengthy and full of discussions.
