AJK - IFAD : Agriculture development projects in AJK  

MUZAFFARABAD: (APP) The International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) will launch agriculture based development projects of Rs. 5 billion in Azad Kashmir.

This was said while IFAD's five-member delegation led by Hobart Boyart visited AJK capital Muzaffarabad on Friday.

The delegation held talks with AJK Chief Secretary for Development Syed Asif Hussain Shah, Secretary Planning and Development Mansoor Qadir Dar, Director Program Azad Jammu Kashmir Community Development Program (AJKCDP) Javid Ayub and other high officials of the government.

The IFAD delegation held talks with different village organization's officials and meanwhile AJKCDP arranged a visit of the delegation at the sites of different ongoing projects.

According to detail, the IFAD visited Azad Kashmir to launch different development programs including, "Up Scaling Gender Sensitive Rural Community Development & Livelihood Support in AJK" Phase-II with the coordination of AJKCDP.

The delegation held meetings with program Director AJKCDP Javid Ayub, Executive members of village organization Phagwan and village organization Dopatta President Raja Iftikhar and briefed the delegation about their ongoing development projects and upcoming public welfare project.

The delegates expressed their satisfaction over the development projects and expressed the hope that village level development projects would be given special attention, particularly for the women skill development projects.
