After months, former PM Imran Khan to make first public appearance on Tuesday?

In Islamabad, concerns have arisen regarding a perceived "security threat" related to the planned appearance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan before the Election Commission of Pakistan, as reported by sources familiar with the matter on Monday.

The Election Commission, which governs the nation's electoral processes, had recently issued production orders for the detained former Prime Minister in the context of ECP contempt cases scheduled for October 24. It is expected that a charge sheet will be presented against him during this appearance, and authorities were instructed to make the necessary arrangements.

However, sources disclosed that just one day before the scheduled production, the Ministry of Interior and the Islamabad police expressed concerns to the commission about the "security risk" associated with transporting Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail for a cipher case.

This situation unfolded within a four-member bench, led by ECP Member Sindh Nisar Ahmad Durrani, which issued two separate yet almost identical orders, one for Imran Khan and another for Fawad Chaudhary, a former PTI member.
