Pakistani ambassador Maleeha Lodhi launches yet another initiative against India in UN

ISLAMABAD - At the United Nations, Pakistan says India’s false and malevolent claims of having destroyed three alleged camps across the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region were proved to be lied when Pakistan took foreign diplomats to the LoC yesterday.

Pakistan outgoing Ambassador to UN Maleeha Lodhi said this during a meeting with the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo in New York.

She said that the Indian High Commission in Islamabad was formally invited to join the trip, however, they did not take up the offer, sensing that their claims would be exposed.

Ambassador Lodhi said that India’s illegal move on August 5 had triggered multiple crises in the region and urged the UN to play its role for a peaceful settlement of the decades-old Kashmir dispute.

The outgoing envoy also dismissed India’s claims of normalcy having returned to occupied Kashmir, as “yet another Indian fallacy”, saying it has been debunked by the international media and human rights organizations.
