Attack on Chinese Consulate conspiracy to damage Pakistan-China ties: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday said that terrorists' attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi was part of a big conspiracy to sabotage Pakistan’s friendly relations with China, but the enemies would not succeed in their nefarious designs.
Talking to media outside the Parliament house, the minister said that no one can harm the close strategic relations of Pakistan and China through such conspiracies as both share a friendship higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the deepest seas. The minister said it was not an isolated incident, but part of a big conspiracy as some countries were wary of close ties between Beijing and Islamabad.
He said that all the three attackers were gunned down by valiant personnel of police and Pakistan Rangers. The minister said the entire nation was proud of their sacrifice and the federal and provincial government stand by their families.
Paying tribute to the martyred police personnel, he said that the martyred laid down their lives in line of duty by foiling the cowardly attack. He said that Pakistan Armed Forces, police, rangers and other law enforcement agencies , intelligent agencies and the people of Pakistan have rendered unprecedented sacrifices in this war.
The minister said that prime minister in a statement has expressed resolve to bring the criminal minds behind the attack to justice and expose the enemies who are not happy over restoration of peace and start of development process in Pakistan.
He said that that Pakistani nation had strong nerves and resolve and have fought against the scourge of terrorism for past one and a half decade. If any other country had faced similar situation it would have collapsed, he said.
