JERUSALEM: Israeli forces have shot and killed another Palestinian in the occupied West Bank after accusing him of a stabbing attack. The Palestinian, whose age and identity has not been revealed yet, was shot dead in Gush Etzion south of al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Sunday after he allegedly stabbed and injured the Israeli woman, the Palestinian Ma’an news agency reported. An Israeli Army spokesperson said that the Tel Aviv regime “forces on site responded to the imminent threat and shot the attacker resulting in his death.” Earlier on Sunday, an Israeli settler ran over, shot and killed a young Palestinian woman in the West Bank. The settler claimed that the Palestinian teenage girl, Ashraqat Taha Ahmad Qatanani, had tried to stab Israeli soldiers at the Huwarra checkpoint, south of the city of Nablus. In a separate incident on Monday, an Israeli killed a Palestinian man near the illegal Israeli settlement of Kfar Adumim in the central occupied West Bank. The development comes amid deadly tensions between the Tel Aviv regime and Palestinians triggered by Israel’s imposition on August 26 of sweeping restrictions on entries into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds and Israeli settlers’ repeated attacks on the mosque.
