WASHINGTON: Indian nuclear safety measures are weaker than Pakistan: US Report

WASHINGTON: US report on assessment of security measures of nuclear sites claimed that India’s nuclear security measures are weaker than Pakistan.

It claimed that India faces both domestic threat and threat from terrorist organizations outside the country.

The report claimed that Pakistan has deployed 25,000 troops to protect its nuclear pile which is a massive commitment and report has agreed to that much but India has failed to display it.

Report said “Given the limited information available about India’s nuclear security measures, it is difficult to judge whether India’s nuclear security is capable of protecting against the threat it faces.”

Earlier, US officials also claimed that measures adopted by India to secure its nuclear sites are weaker as compared to those adopted by Pakistan and Russia.

The report also cited Pathankot airbase attackers that killed seven security personnel.
