MOHALI: Pakistan Team coach outbursts at Umer Akmal and  Ahmed Shehzad

MOHALI: Pakistan Team Coach Waqar Younis outburst at Umer Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad for their poor performance in middle order.

He claimed that Sharjeel Khan gave a good touch in the start to chase the target but middle order batsmen could not follow that.

He claimed that Sharjeel left a required run rate of 8 which rose to 11 due to poor performance of Akmal and Shehzad who contributed just 17 runs in 4 over.

He said “Two of our so-called youngsters, upcoming cricketers, they both batted for a good chunk of time in the middle where we thought they would take the game away. We were always in hope. But yeah couldn’t really finish it.”

He claimed that we also have a chance for go through to semi finals if Pakistan beat Australia and Australia beat India but we don’t deserve it.

He said “If you say so, we will continue to hope, but the way we have been playing we don’t deserve to go through.”

He also urged the selection board to pay attention to the team and find out those players which the team  needed.

Pakistan has lost 2 of three matches from India and New Zealand and play its next match against Australia on March 25.
