LAHORE - The Punjab Government has approved a sixty-day extension in the deployment of the rangers in the province.

According to the spokesman of the Punjab government, a summary for the extension of the rangers' deployment in the province will be dispatched to the ministry of interior for final approval.
The rangers have been deployed in Punjab under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 for the joint intelligence based Operations in the province.
