UN Chief urges Israel, Hamas to step back from conflict

United Nations: The UN Chief has urged on Israel and Hamas to step back from the brink of another devastating conflict. In his statement in New York today, Antonio Guterres deeply regreted the loss of life and called on both sides to stop the war.
He said that any further escalation will endanger the lives of Palestinians and Israelis alike, deepen the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and undermine current efforts to improve livelihoods and support the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza.
