English women defeat Indian counterparts to clinch ICC Women world cup

England on Sunday beat India by nine runs to win the Women’s World Cup at London.

India were set a score of 229 runs by Heather Knight’s England but they lost their last wicket in the 49th over, just nine runs short of the target.

For India, Punam Raut was the top-scorer with 86 off 115 balls.
