Karachi Bakery forced to change name in India in a big claimed victory for Hindu extremists

NEW DELHI - A a six-decade old bakery chain, Karachi Bakery was set up in 1953 after owners migrated to India from Pakistan after partition.

Karachi Bakery outlet in Bengaluru's Indiranagar was forced by Hindu extremists to cover the "Karachi" part of its signboard outside the shop amid calls for change of the name of the bakery.

"The brand was established in 1953 and is an Indian company based out of Hyderabad, Telangana.

The popularity and love of its products has contributed to its growth in India and abroad," the post reads.
