The Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies recovered 23 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during a joint operation against the Jamaatul Ahraar faction of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday.
As part of the new-launched crackdown against militants, the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) raided Killi Shah Karaiz near Loralai, Balochistan against the network led by Wahab Zakhbail.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IEDs were being transported to the area by TTP elements to target LEA vehicles and Loralai University buses carrying students. Thus, the timely action helped averted a major terrorist incident.
Earlier this week, nearly a dozen training camps and hideouts of the terrorist groups were destroyed and over a dozen terrorists — including a top trainer of suicide bombers — were killed in two days of artillery shelling. The JuA has claimed responsibility for most of the recent terror attacks in the country.
