The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has announced the admissions process for private medical and dental colleges.
In its announcement, the commission detailed the eligibility criteria, merit generation, exemptions, and required documents for students seeking admissions in private medical and dental colleges across the country. MDCAT Exemption
Students who have completed 12 years of education outside Pakistan will not be mandated to undergo the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for the 2021 year only. Such students will require to produce their SAT II results instead, with a minimum score of 480 at least in every subject. ------------------------------

Moreover, foreign students should have at least 40 percent marks in Biology, 35 percent in Chemistry, and 25 percent in Physics and Maths.
Since, SAT I exams have not been held anywhere in the world due to the COVID-19 outbreak, therefore, students who studied in an English medium school will be further exempt from submitting scores for English. Eligibility Criteria
Students need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for admission in private medical and dental colleges this year:
- Minimum 65% or above marks in FSC/HSSC or A-Levels equivalent IBCC certificate. - 60% or above marks in MDCAT or SAT II. - In the case of SAT II (for foreign students only), 60% or above in each subject.
------------------------------
According to the PMC announcement, applications that do not meet the mentioned criteria will not be entertained. Admissions will be given purely on merit and there will be no special quota for foreign students. Merit
The PMC has announced that at the end of the process, candidates will be chosen on merit based on the following weightage:
- FSC/A-Levels IBCC equivalence certificate: 30% - MDCAT/SAT-II: 50% - Interview: 20%
The concerned college will consolidate the interview scores of each applicant with its FSC/MDCAT aggregate assigned by the PMC, and will then finalize a total merit score of the students.
