Pakistan has discovered largest ever shale oil and gas reserves of its history

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan is on the verge of discovery of largest ever shale oil and gas reserves of its history.
A policy to exploit massive Shale gas and oil reserves will soon be finalized.
These reserves were identified after a study completed in collaboration with the USAID, covering lower and middle Indus Basin.
A study has confirmed presence of 10,159 trillion cubic feet Shale gas and 2,323 billion of stock tank barrels Shale oil in place resources.
The drilling would be initiated soon by the foriegn company and the reserves would be the largest ever shale reserves of Pakistan’s history.
As per the media report the reserves would be enough to cater needs of Pakistan for the next 50 years.
