Lahore High Court proceeds case of OGRA under ministry control
LAHORE (APP): The Lahore High Court on Friday issued notices to the federal government on a petition challenging step of placing Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the control of Petroleum and Natural Resources Ministry.
Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza issued notices on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Andleeb Abbas.
He submitted that step was taken without approval of Council of Common Interest and the cabinet. He contended that it was a violation of Article 154 of the Constitution and dictum laid down by Supreme Court. He pleaded with the court to set aside the step being illegal.
The court after hearing initial arguments issued notices to the federal government and sought reply within four weeks.
