“Go Seva Parivar” Selfie with cow festival held in kolkata India

NEW DELHI: In a unique way to save cows from being slaughtered, a trust in Kolkata has come up with a new idea. The Go Seva Parivar is asking people to post their selfies with cows to create awareness against cow slaughter. The trust said it is getting good response from youngsters who are posting their photos on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter with the hashtag #Selfiewithgomata in a campaign that was launched after Diwali. Notably, cow slaughter is legal in West Bengal. “We started this great event from last year to create the general awareness that cow protection is not religious but scientific,” a spokesperson from the organisation told reporters. The winners of the contest were announced on December 20. “Since selfies are trending right now, this way youth will feel the need to save cows,” one of the selfie contestants added.(Zee News)
