Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar approaches Supreme Court of Pakistan

Former finance minister Ishaq Dar has filed a petition in the Supreme Court for an early hearing of his case regarding declaring him as an absconder and freezing his assets.

According to sources, he filed an application in the supreme court with the request that the case may be fixed for a hearing on August 25. It is pleaded in the application that the previous government had cancelled his passport.

He is yet suffering from different diseases including backache and treatment is yet going on. Thus, justice should be provided by fixing the case for hearing early.

It is pertinent that an accountability court in 2017 declared Ishaq Dar an absconder in a corruption reference after the former finance minister repeatedly failed to join the trial, remaining instead in London where he has reportedly been undergoing medical treatment.
