“Terrorists from inside Afghanistan across the international border, opened fire on Pakistani troops in general area Dewagar, North Waziristan,” the ISPR said. The Pakistani troops responded in a befitting manner, resulting in heavy casualties of terrorists, as per credible intelligence reports.
However, during exchange of fire, Havaldar Taimoor, 30, resident of Jhelum, Naik Shoaib, 38, resident of Attock, and Sepoy Saqib Nawaz, 24, resident of Sialkot, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.
“Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that the Afghan government will not allow conduct of such activities in future,” the ISPR said.
It said Pakistan Army was determined to defend Pakistan’s borders against the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of their brave men further strengthened their resolve.
On April 22, the ISPR had reported that an army officer was martyred and a soldier seriously injured when terrorists opened fire on a security checkpoint in Balochistan.
