Pakistan Afghanistan tribal elders vow to resolve Durand Line dispute issue

PESHAWAR - The local tribal elders from Khost province of Afghanistan and Pakistan’s Kurram Agency met on Sunday to hold talks to defuse tensions after a deadly clash left at least five Pakistani soldiers and two Afghans dead.

According to reports, the meeting was organized in Kurram Agency of Pakistan and it was decided that the ceasefire should be extended.

The Pakistani officials are saying that the elders also agreed to form a delegation to visit the area and resolve and disputes relating to the Durand Line.

Pakistan claims that the incident took place after the Pakistani soldiers came under fire from the Afghan side of the line.
