Indo-Pak bilateral talks not suspended: Indian EAM Spokesperson

NEW DELHI: India’s External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup claimed that Indo-Pak bilateral talks not suspended and Pakistan based JIT visit to Pathankot took place in a very “constructive and cooperative” atmosphere.

He claimed that India is ready to cooperate to counter terrorism in all its forms and India will seek permission to visit Pakistan at an appropriate time.

Days before, Pakistan foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zikaria blamed Indian media for creating hype over the remarks of Pak High Commissioner to India.

Nafees said “Pakistan and India are two neighbours which must live in peace and harmony. The hype created by the Indian media over Mr Abdul Basit’s remarks was neither warranted nor required.”

He refused to debate on previous comments from both sides and claimed that Pakistan will be ready to negotiate when India will be ready.
