Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has announced his resignation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) just before the ICC World Cup 2023. On X, formerly Twitter, Hafeez stated that he is stepping down from his role as an honorary member of the PCB CTC.
Hafeez revealed that he could only work in PCB if he has some level of decisive authority in team selection else he was not interested in only ceremonial job.
He expressed his gratitude to Zaka Ashraf for the opportunity to serve as an honorary member and offered his continued support for Pakistan cricket.
Notably, the PCB had established the CTC, which includes former Pakistan captains Misbah-ul-Haq (as the head), Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez, to provide recommendations on various cricket-related matters, such as the domestic structure, scheduling, selection committees, coaching appointments, contracts, and umpire, referee, and curator development plans.
