Pakistan - China decide to further enhance security and defence cooperation

During the ongoing visit of Pakistan's caretaker Minister for Interior, Sarfraz Ahmad Bugti, to China, both nations have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to strengthening their existing collaboration. This determination was articulated during a bilateral meeting between Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Xiao Hong, who serves as a Member of the Secretariat of CPC Central Committee, State Councilor, and Minister for Public Security, in Lianyungang City during the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum 2023.

In response to the welcoming remarks from the host minister, Bugti expressed gratitude on behalf of the Pakistani delegation for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the Chinese government. He emphasized that China is a steadfast and enduring strategic ally, conveying deep appreciation from the government and people of Pakistan for China's consistent and unconditional support throughout various challenges.

Bugti also provided an overview to the host minister of the security measures implemented by Pakistan to ensure the complete protection of Chinese personnel involved in diverse projects within Pakistan, aiming for a better future for the Pakistani populace.

The Chinese minister commended Pakistan's resolute commitment and the diverse actions taken by the government to address threats related to terrorism, narcotics, and the safety of Chinese citizens and installations. He expressed hope that Pakistan and China would further explore avenues through capacity-building and collaborative efforts to thwart the malicious intentions of hostile elements.
