Indian military uses brute force against peaceful demonstrations in occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR - Indian troops and police personnel used brute force against peaceful protesters in Shopian district, today.

Locals told media that a joint team of Indian army, police and paramilitary personnel besieged the area and started door-to-door searches early in the morning.

People took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the operation.

The police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.
