UN setup a special trust fund for Afghanistan people survival

The United Nations has set up a special trust fund to provide urgently-needed cash directly to Afghans through a systematic mechanism.

The aim of setting up the fund is to inject liquidity into Afghan households to permit them to survive this winter and remain in their homeland.

Addressing a news conference in Geneva, the United Nations Development Programme's administrator Achim Steiner, said Germany, a first contributor, has pledged 50 million Euros to the fund.
